Electric flatbed carts can be equipped with different types of wheels depending on the application, load requirements, and operating environment. Common wheel options include:

Corner Box Wheels

Features: Compact structure, smooth operation, and high positioning accuracy. Ideal for applications requiring low noise and high precision.

LD Wheels

Features: A cost-effective option with strong durability. Frequently used in harsh environments such as mines and steel mills. LD wheels offer high strength and wear resistance, suitable for heavy-duty and high-frequency operation.

Polyurethane-Coated Wheels

Features: Designed for trackless electric flatbed carts. Polyurethane provides excellent wear, oil, water, and low-temperature resistance. These wheels offer good elasticity, high friction, long service life, and reduced floor damage. They maintain stable traction even on uneven surfaces with sand or gravel.

Rubber Wheels

Features: Suitable for trackless carts operating on poor road conditions. Rubber wheels are wear- and puncture-resistant, adaptable to various terrains, and ensure stable travel in complex environments.

Steering Wheels

Features: Commonly used in AGVs. A steering wheel integrates a drive motor, steering motor, reducer, and other components, enabling driving, traction, and steering functions. They offer low noise, high load capacity, and support precise movements for automated systems and mobile robots.

Universal Wheels

Features: Used alongside steering wheels to achieve multidirectional movement—forward, backward, lateral, and rotational. Universal wheels provide flexibility and adaptability for complex driving paths.

Mecanum Wheels

Features: Designed for robots and AGVs requiring omnidirectional movement. Mecanum wheels allow quick lateral motion and rotation without changing the vehicle’s orientation, making them ideal for tight spaces.

Wheel Materials and Structures

Wheels can also be classified by material:

  • Steel Wheels: High strength and wear resistance; suitable for heavy-duty, frequent use.

  • Solid Rubber Wheels: Simple structure and high strength, but limited shock absorption.

  • Pneumatic Wheels: Excellent cushioning and elasticity, but require regular inflation and maintenance.

Selecting the appropriate wheel type for an electric flatbed cart requires careful evaluation of load capacity, application scenarios, and road conditions to ensure reliable performance and safe operation.
